guided tours at the Wooden Boat Centre
Join one of our volunteer guides for a tour through the workshop and history of wooden boatbuilding.
We invite you to understand what drives our passion. You will gain an understanding of the rich background of Australia's premier wooden boat centre, as well as Franklin's maritime history. Learn tall tales and true from our volunteer guides about the precious boat building timbers that are found exclusively in Tasmania, and tour the interpretive area and workshop where boats that are currently under construction and restoration can be seen.
Guided Tours take around 40 minutes and generally run on demand. The Wooden Boat Centre is currently open from Sunday to Thursday from 10am to 3pm with the last tour generally starting at 2pm. If you are restricted in your time and would like to come on Friday or Saturday, please send us a message via the below contact form at least 48 hours prior and we will get back to you as soon as possible. For all other days, no need to book unless you have a group of eight or more.
