These terms and conditions ("Terms") apply to all gift cards ("Gift Card") issued for the redemption at The Wooden Boat Centre – Tasmania Inc. ("the Company"). By purchasing, using, or accepting a Gift Card, you agree to abide by these Terms.
Gift Card Eligibility 1.1. This Gift Card can only be redeemed for the specific value on the Gift Card and only on products from the Gift Shop, Individual Guided Tour Tickets or Courses. It cannot be exchanged for cash, products, or any other goods or services offered by the Company not listed above.
1.2. The Gift Card is valid only for the person or entity to whom it is issued.Gift Card Value 2.1. The Gift Card value is specified on the Gift Card itself.
Redemption for Courses 4.1. To redeem the Gift Card for Courses, you must make a reservation with the Company at least 14 days in advance.
4.2. A valid Gift Card code or proof of purchase must be presented at the time of booking.
4.4. The Gift Card is subject to availability and may not be used during blackout periods, including public holidays or peak times, unless specified.Redemption for Guided Tours 5.1. When redeeming the Gift Card for guided tours, redemption is subject to availability of guides. Please contact the Company prior to your visit to ensure a guide is available on the preferred date.
Cancellation and Rescheduling 5.1. The Company’s standard cancellation policy applies if you need to cancel or reschedule your booking.
5.2. Failure to cancel or reschedule within the required notice period may result in the Gift Card being considered used.Lost or Stolen Gift Cards 6.1. The Company is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged Gift Cards.
6.2. If your Gift Card is lost or stolen, contact the Company immediately. At the Company’s discretion, a replacement Gift Card may be issued with proof of purchase.Non-Transferability 7.1. The Gift Card is non-transferable and cannot be sold or exchanged for cash.
Limitation of Liability 8.1. The Company’s liability is limited to the value of the Gift Card.
8.2. The Company is not liable for any loss, injury, or damage arising from the Activity, except where caused by the Company’s gross negligence or wilful misconduct.Privacy 9.1. The Company collects personal information required for Gift Card redemption and administrative purposes.
9.2. Personal information will be handled in accordance with the Company’s privacy policy, available on the website.Changes to Terms 10.1. The Company may update these Terms at any time without notice.
10.2. Any changes will apply to future Gift Card purchases and bookings.Governing Law 11.1. These Terms are governed by the laws of Tasmania, Australia.

1. Purpose The Wud Heritage Grant Scholarship aims to support young women from the Huon Valley to pursue education, training, or professional development by providing financial assistance and recognition of potential within the wooden boatbuilding trade.
2. Scholarship Value & Duration 2.1 Value: AU$11,000. 2.2 Duration: One-off payment for a course of eight to twelve weeks. 2.3 Number of Awards: once each financial year, subject to available funding.
3. Eligibility Criteria 3.1 A young woman from the Huon Valley council area. 3.2 At least 18 years of age at the time of application. 3.3 An Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident. 3.4 Be available for a continuous period of at least eight weeks before 31 of December 2026.
4. Selection Criteria All applicants will be assessed on the above eligibility criteria, their motivational letter and in-person interview. The panel will look at the applicant’s educational, employment and volunteering history, clarity of goals, passion for chosen field, alignment with the scholarship’s values, personal drive, how the scholarship will help them achieve their goals, and their potential to contribute to the community.
5. Application Process Applications must be submitted by the advertised closing date. Late or incomplete applications will not be considered. All applications will be acknowledged by email. Shortlisted applicants may be invited to attend an interview.
6. Selection & Decision The Selection panel will consist of internal members appointed by The Wooden Boat Centre and may include external representatives. Panel members must declare any conflict of interest and will not assess applications where such a conflict exist. The decision of the panel is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
7. Payment of scholarship Funds will be credited against the course fee. Any remaining funds, where the course is shorter, will be reimbursed to the recipient on proof of purchase of related costs. Any remaining costs, where the course is longer, will be funded by the recipient.
8. Recipient Obligations Recipients must: 8.1 Use the funds for costs directly related to their approved course or study or training. (e.g. tuition fees, books, equipment, travel). 8.2 Maintain enrolment in their course during the funded period. 8.3 Acknowledge the Scholarship in media or community events if requested. 8.4 Provide a short-written update or testimonial at the end of the funded period.
9. Repayment Clause The Scholarship provider reserves the right to terminate the Scholarship and request repayment of all or part of the funds if: 9.1 The recipient withdraws from the course before completion (unless exceptional circumstances apply). 9.2 The recipient fails to meet the eligibility or ongoing requirements. 9.3 The recipient has provided false or misleading information on their application. 9.4 The recipient engages in serious misconduct that brings the Scholarship into disrepute. 9.5 Any repayment amount will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may be waived under compassionate or extenuating circumstances.
10. Privacy All personal information collected will be used solely for the purpose of administering the Scholarship and will be handled in accordance with applicable Tasmanian and Australian privacy laws.
11. Publicity By accepting the Scholarship, recipients agree to allow their name, image and brief biography to be used for promotional purposes by the Scholarship provider, unless they request otherwise in writing.
12. Changes to Terms The Scholarship provider reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions as necessary, provided that any changes will not disadvantage applicants who have already submitted their application
