Z-Lectra

This boat is a real eye-catcher. It is a copy of a 1950’s Barrel back sports boat, so called due to its iconic semi-circular transom shape.

This particular version is from a set of plans from American company Glen-L. Although this class of boats are more usually powered by a big American V8 petrol engine, this boat breaks from the mould in being adapted to run on volts. It will be entirely electric powered, relying on a battery pack of 72 Lithium Ion batteries. The engine itself is just the size of a stack of six or so dinner plates. Forecast top speed is in the order of 30 knots, maximum duration in the order of 10 hours at a lesser speed.

It features King Billy veneer outer planking.
